Kristin (Stannard) Kent joins Expa as Principal

I’m ecstatic to announce that I’ve joined the Expa team as Principal. Based out of Los Angeles, I’ll be working alongside Milun, Roberto, Dylan, and the rest of the excellent Expa team to identify and support pre-seed startups at Expa.

Before joining Expa, I was Director of Product at 3D home design startup Modsy, where I helped build the consumer experience as well as internal tools critical to scaling the business. With over ten years of operating experience across product management, operations, growth marketing, and business development, I’ve also held roles at Calm, Foursquare, Rocket Fuel, and Bloom Energy. In my experience working at these startups, I’ve seen firsthand the struggles of building a company — when there is a new fire every single day and somehow each week seems more chaotic than the last. And I’ve seen the highs, too — when you finally hit your growth goal and feel like you’re on top of the world. My experiences over the past decade have helped me learn how to navigate the multitude of challenges that startups face and create impactful solutions.

I was initially introduced to the partners at Expa through Eric Friedman, the former head of Expa’s pre-seed program. I was immediately impressed with the collective talent and skillsets at Expa. I’ve always been drawn to the potential and excitement that comes with early-stage company building, and I’m thrilled to work directly to support these startups at Expa. While I’ll be working to identify startups that could benefit from partnering with Expa, my focus will be on directly helping founders within Expa’s program with product development, hiring, and fundraising. Through hands-on support, a powerful network, and a flexible early-stage program, Expa has extraordinary potential to help early-stage founders scale their startups.

We’re looking to identify the next generation of great founders. If you have an idea that you’re passionate about, we encourage you to apply at Expa — we would love to hear from you.
