Eric Friedman becomes GM of Expa NYC

After spending the last nine months as EIR at Expa, I’m pleased to announce I will be staying on as General Manager of Expa New York. The past few months have allowed me to grow professionally, while becoming more familiar with how Expa and our companies operate. As EIR, I acted as roaming COO, collaborating on hiring and revenue-generating initiatives, strategic planning, fundraising, and much more. I also had the opportunity to work across multiple industries on interesting operational challenges, and helped launch new projects such as Current and Kit, both of which are now beginning to grow.

At our core, Expa creates companies we want to see in the world, and we hire the best talent to turn those ideas into reality. To do this, we have created a platform that helps startups focus on the things that matter most: building and shipping great products. This approach meshes perfectly with my passion for helping, advising, and supporting new startups. After months of seeing this thesis in action, the decision to remain at Expa was an easy one.

Moving forward, I will be running our recently-announced Expa Labs initiative, lending assistance to our Expa Studios companies, and growing our New York presence. I’m excited to continue to work with the partners and our incredibly talented team of experts in finance, analytics, research, operations, marketing, and more. This is a special organization – one that I’m proud to be part of. I’m excited for the future and what we are building.

If you’re interested in joining Expa, or becoming part of Expa Labs—please reach out.
