Brendan Lewis joins Expa as VP of Communications

I’m pleased to (now publicly) announce my role as vice president of communications for Expa, where I’m helping tell the stories of Expa’s operating model, our partners, and our Studio and Labs companies. It’s already been a busy few months. Since starting, I’ve had the pleasure to help announce our new fund and the creation of Expa Labs and assist in the launches of Current, Ando and, most recently, Haus (among other things.)

For many pr/communications professionals, the most rewarding part of our job is uncovering and telling complex, interesting, and compelling stories. Working at Expa is a storyteller’s dream. Here, I can help shape overall company strategy, practice corporate, consumer, and B2B communications, assist in product launches, and, over time, perhaps dabble in other areas like policy discussions. Every day is uniquely different than the last and the next—and that’s what makes working here so great.

I’ve long admired Expa and its early companies and was always curious to find out more. Though we never worked together at Foursquare, I was fortunate enough to get to know Naveen these past few years, and he originally introduced me to the company. Over time, I met the rest of the team, and even consulted with Expa before officially joining. I’m thankful for that period—it allowed me to get a glimpse into all the potential for this role, and how I could fit into this special organization.

I’m based in our New York offices, but in San Francisco each month. If you’re interested in hearing more about Expa, I’d love to hear from you. And keep an eye out for more news from us. Exciting times are ahead.
